What is happening on this site? After 125 years of service, the four-track railway bridge at Anckelmannsplatz has reached the end of its useful life and must be replaced. The demolition and new construction are taking place under very challenging spatial and operational conditions. The duration of the works and the number of track closures are strictly limited. The abutments are being constructed under the protection of temporary bridges, whilst the superstructure is being assembled at a height above the moving traffic, followed by a transverse shift into its final position.
Our guided tours start on Saturday 27 June at 10 am, 12 noon and 1 pm. Meeting point: the DB site office container in the car park opposite Anckelmannstrasse 11. Anyone interested is very welcome.
