Precision at Speed: Construction at Hamburg State Opera.
24.07.2026 - At the Hamburg State Opera, the summer break is once again being used to carry out necessary refurbishment work on the building.
This time, among other things, the substructure of the new balustrade between the auditorium and the stage is being completely replaced. This will also serve to further improve the sound system. In addition, preparatory work is being carried out for the construction of the planned lift shaft on Kleine Theaterstrasse: door openings are being cut into the external wall, though these will initially be temporarily sealed up again. The lift itself will then be installed during the next summer break.
From mid-July to mid-September, every day counts. As the reality on site often throws up surprises, the team needs strong nerves and the expertise to decide on viable technical solutions on the spot.
