24.11.2025 – During a closure period of just under three weeks, the first four temporary bridges were successfully installed on the Anckelmannsplatz railway bridge. This lays the foundation for further work on the renovation of the bridge structures.
The work was carried out around the clock. First, four of the 12 existing superstructures were shortened and placed on temporary trestles. Two large drilling rigs were lifted onto the railway embankment to construct the deep foundations for the shoring and supports. Finally, the temporary bridges were installed. The result is now a complex construction consisting of five sub-structures per track with a total length of over 70 metres each. An impressive achievement by all those involved.
Under the protection of the auxiliary bridges, the existing abutments can now be demolished and new abutments erected. At the same time, work is beginning on the new superstructure, which is to be constructed in a lateral position above the ongoing road traffic and then finally pushed into place.
