Exciting planning task in Harburg's inner harbour district.
10.07.2025 - Start of construction in Harburg's inner harbour district: the historic guest house built in 1730 is being converted for hotel use. In addition, a new five-storey building with a total of 142 rooms and 34 car parking spaces in the basement will be erected at the rear adjacent to the old Kaufmann Canal.
The planning task posed a number of challenges for the planning engineers: Old building structures that had to be elaborately secured, a high water level that determined the measures for economical planning of the basement floors, the boundary conditions resulting from the insufficiently stable subsoil, the extremely tight construction site situation for delivery and disposal and, last but not least, the requirement for the planners to realise a very economical construction.
Ingenieurbüro Binnewies is pleased that, after a lengthy project stop, construction has now been able to start with the securing of the existing building.
