Heidjerbrücke: 6 bridge sections in 2 days.

09.08.2023 - A few days ago, the 6 prefabricated sections were assembled for the new pedestrian bridge over the Oste river in the Heeslingen district of the municipality of Zeven. The sections, weighing up to 6 tons and up to 14 m long, were delivered on semi-trailer trucks and lifted into place with an 80-tonne mobile crane.

The sections of the approx. 70 m long new bridge consist of a steel construction, a surface of non-slip plastic boards and a wooden railing. The sections were lifted in and installed from the northern and southern banks over 2 days. The old, dilapidated wooden bridge had previously been dismantled in the same way.

The new bridge stands on a micro pile foundation. With its wooden railing, the new bridge reflects the appearance of the old bridge and thus blends in just as ideally with the surroundings of the forest clearing.

After completion of the building work in a few weeks’ time, the new bridge will again be available as a crossing point for hikers and cyclists in this tourist region.
