09.07.2024 - Necessary modernisation measures have begun at Hamburg's traditional concert hall. Over several seasons, during the summer, when there are no events, both the historic building itself and the stage facilities will be technically modernised.
The magnificent music venue was built at the beginning of the 20th century, following a generous donation from the Laeisz couple, as the most modern concert hall in Germany at the time. Nevertheless, the building as well as the facilities and stage technology must be regularly modernised and brought up to date. Only three months are available for the extensive work planned for the main hall this year, during which among other things the toilets, building services and stage equipment will be renovated.
The very tight time frame also requires us structural engineers to be constantly ready to solve the structural problems that always arise during a renovation at very short notice, so that the first concert in the Laeiszhalle after the summer break can take place on schedule at the beginning of October.
