Lecture: Practical application of FEM in civil engineering.
01.07.2024 - This week we will be giving a practical presentation at the Seminar on Structural Analysis in Karlsruhe.
The FEM (Finite element method) has become an integral part of our everyday work as designers of structural engineering structures. In our lecture, we will present projects from our engineering practice as planners and reviewing engineers (Prüfingenieure) in which the FEM has been used in various ways. These projects include the recalculation and reinforcement of the Taubenstein Bridge in Wetzlar and the structural inspection of the planning for the replacement construction of the Kriegenbrunn lock structure.
The lecture will take place on Wednesday, 03.07.2024 um 4:30 pm at Karlsruhe Institute of Technologie (KIT) Institute for Structural Analysis, building 10.81, room 305.
