Innovative measurement technology for Hamburg's railways.
15.01.2024 - The EM100VT-1 surveying train from Plasser & Theurer has been used for the first time in northern Germany for the planning of DB projects.
Shortly before Christmas, almost 14 km of track and adjacent areas were surveyed and measured for the double-tracking project of feeder line 6100 in Hamburg – with no interruptions to service on the very busy ICE line between Hamburg and Berlin.
We were able to participate as general planners and gained exciting insights into this pioneering survey technology. It started early in the morning. Despite the notorious Hamburg weather and high track occupation, it was possible to survey all the track sections in one day. Many thanks to all those involved for the excellent planning and execution at short notice: Plasser & Theurer, Track Machines Connected (tmc), SPITZKE SE, OBERMEYER Infrastruktur, Dr Hesse und Partner Ingenieure and DB Netz AG (DB InfraGO AG). We look forward to continuing our excellent collaboration!
Hopefully, the surveying trains will be seen more often here in the north in future.
