19.10.2023 - After many delays, the preliminary work on the remediation of the Neumühlen quay wall has finally begun. Construction work on the quay wall, including restoration of the Elbe promenade along the so-called "Hamburg string of pearls", will start in 2024 and be completed in 2026.
The existing sheet pile wall had deformed considerably by more than 1.7 m over the years and had to be secured in the meantime by several emergency securing measures.
Due to the complex constraints in the exposed location, intensive planning was necessary. The remediation is now being carried out with a retaining wall consisting of a combined tubular sheet pile wall, reinforced concrete struts and back-anchoring with micro grouting piles.
After a successful planning phase, we are now also pleased to be involved in the construction phase.
