Aircraft hanger 262.

Extra Long Range: The new Airbus hangar is put into operation.

23.07.2025 - Another major building block for the smooth production of the Airbus XLR was handed over to production in a festive ceremony on Friday.

A major building block in the truest sense of the word. The approx. 120 x 45 x 30 metres large Hall 262 provides space for twelve ultra-modern construction bays for aircraft fuselages. The hall structure consists of a 30-metre high reinforced concrete firewall, constructed using the climbing method, and an adjoining six-storey office building, also made of reinforced concrete. The 45 metre free-span hall roof and the gable walls are made of steel.

It took just three years from the start of the project to the commissioning of the new Hall 262. After less than a year of planning, construction work was able to begin as planned in spring 2023. Now it is complete. We are pleased that we were able to contribute to the timely start of hall operations, and look forward to further exciting engineering tasks at Airbus in Finkenwerder.
