11.06.2025 - An unusual area for contemplation has been created in the Hamburg Warburg Ensemble.
A small architectural and engineering work of art is hidden in the garden behind the Warburg Ensemble on Warburgstraße. Here, for ‘The New Institute’, a special space of retreat for inner contemplation has been created, based on a design by the Swiss landscape architects Atelier Girot, in congenial combination with the garden layout.
The extremely filigree supporting structure of the ‘Bridge’ used sharp-edged hollow sections from a Swiss steel manufacturer. The aim was to avoid visually disruptive cross bracing for the stabilisation of the structure. To ensure sufficient rigidity and stability, the hollow sections were welded at all intersections.
