Modern response to warehouse destrict.
In the heart of the HafenCity between Sandtorpark and Magellanterrasse lies "CC01", a seven-storey office and commercial building. In the sophisticated architecture it is possible to rediscover some elemental features of the historic warehouse district.
Its innovative building concept stands for low energy consumption and maximum user comfort. Contributing to this are both the concrete core activation of the floor slabs and ventilation systems with heat recovery, as well as the use of geothermal energy and a transparent double-skin façade.
The rectangular building with a large atrium and two basement floors is planned as a seamless concrete structure with flat slabs.
Due to the inhomogeneous building site with the remains of old quay walls and foundation structures in a partially in-filled harbour basin, the creation of the pillar foundation and the building pit posed a particular challenge. To complicate matters further, it was not possible to have a grouted anchor to the neighbours on the east side, so that a bracing was required on the inside over three levels.
