A derelict area has turned into a modern office complex.

The new face of the south side of Gasstraße. The first stage of construction of the Hermes Administrative Building II houses 500 comfortable workplaces as well as providing space for 100 cars. Further construction stages will follow to the east and west.

Two 5-storey wings on a shared basement, a generous entrance hall with bridge section, clear lines, simple structures – but still with a number of technical challenges.

Based on extensive studies, the supporting structures of the hall roof and steel bridges were designed and coordinated in such a way that the slender steelwork could be executed without the otherwise necessary F90 fire protection lining.

Complex dynamic calculations led to the implementation of a simple vibration protection system that effectively protects the interior of the building from damaging vibrations from the adjoining suburban railway line.

Dreams need security.
